Josh Herbolsheimer’s Weird Earth Debut Solo Show
Josh Herbolsheimer opened up his “outerspaced imagination” and first solo show on Saturday at Super7 in San Francisco. Weird Earth paired the Elements with the Cosmos for some drippy, trippy visuals. The show featured framed ink drawings and acrylic paintings on wood.
Naturally, there was also a toy release. Josh’s original design, Vampire Rose, showed up in clear glitter with blue sprays and promptly sold out. This photo was taken shortly before the show opened. It’s Super7’s showpiece, you know the one they keep under the glass bell jar at the front counter. Click through to see the header art as Josh signs a VR.
I was most-drawn to these ink and acrylic pieces on paper that lend themselves to character studies. Much of the art sold on opening night (Congrats, Josh!), but check Super7’s New Arrivals section under the Josh heading for remaining work.

Here’s where Josh gets confused about whether the microphone is the Tokyo Tower or the beer bottle…
