Dalek Picture Disc For Ai Records

Dalek Record for AI

Everybody at Neon Monster HQ is really stoked about this, and I can’t even believe it’s not yet sold out.

In 1999 Ai Records released it’s first ever record: Experiments in Colour. To celebrate ten years of music making Ai Records is releasing a very special and limited project. Ai will be releasing a limited edition of 200 12″ picture discs featuring a handful of Ai artists remixing their favourite track from the original Experiments in Colour EP.

The picture disk artwork was created specially by Dalek. Dalek previously worked for Takashi Murakami, but now is an extremely successful international artist who’s creative vision has blown Ai away! Each track is encapsulated in its own design. It is a truly beautiful and unique piece of work.

I don’t use this expression lightly, but that is SO DOPE. “Each track is encapsulated in its own design.” It belongs on your record player. It belongs on your wall. Get two from Ai HERE while they’ve still got them. The price is in pounds, and it’ll take about a month to get it. We’ve secured ours. Dance, Space Monkeys, dance!

We were incredibly stoked and honored to work with Dalek, Josh Cochran and Reuben Rude on a series of limited edition art prints for our Art Basel 2009 installation. Exclusive Dalek Prints and Shirts

Exclusive Dalek Print for Neon Monster at Design Miami

Lots to say about our exclusive items for Art Basel, but since some friends over on the Kidrobot forums have been inquiring, I’ll kick off the conversation with Dalek. All of the Neon Monsters are big fans of the superflat style, and working with Dalek on a limited edition print and T-shirt was just out of this world. Normally, I have an aversion to straight lines, but under Dalek’s vision, it just works for me. Stare at it long enough, and you might start to see some things… A T-shirt based on the print is also available. All of the shirts are printed on Alternative Apparel using eco-friendly, water-based inks. More details on all the prints and shirts to follow. They are available right now at our Cave of Wonders in the F Factory as part of Design Miami and Art Basel. A portion of all of the exclusives will be allotted to our online shop soon!

Neon Monster Opens Cave Of Wonders at Art Basel

Neon Monster at F Factory

Neon Monster was invited to participate in a curated cross-pollination of  culture and commerce at this year’s Design Miami. The historic Moore building provided us with an airy atrium (and fancy neighbors) in which to construct our Cave of Wonders. When you emerge onto the second floor, you’ll be greeted by an effigy of Mitch. Step inside and absorb the world we’ve created: it’s one of stalagmites and stalactites, crystalline patterns, glowing tree stumps and jewel-toned snails (that’s me!). Many of our visitors have likened the limited edition experience to being in a candy store. You’ll find hand-picked art multiples by Michael Lau and Daniel Johnston, original art toys by Arbito and Buff Monster, exclusive prints and T-shirts by Dalek, Reuben Rude and Josh Cochran, and so much more. We’ll be at 191 NE 40th Street all month long, so come by and say hi!
